Alpha Alpha Lucerne Hay
Medicago sativa
Also known as: Alfalfa hay, losan, lucerne

About Alpha Alpha Lucerne Hay
Sun-cured hay of the perennial legume lucerne (alfalfa), rich in protein and calcium. It is a premium forage for high-yielding dairy cows and growing animals.
Nutritional value and use in livestock rations
Alpha Alpha Lucerne Hay is a roughage (forage) and a protein source in the Pakistan Feed Library. On average alpha alpha lucerne hay contains crude protein 18.5% of dry matter, metabolisable energy 2.1 Mcal/kg, TDN 58.0% of dry matter, NDF 44.0% of dry matter.
Protein-rich forages help lift the crude-protein level of a ration while also supplying the fibre the rumen needs. They are usually combined with energy feeds and minerals, and the ration is balanced for the production stage of the animals.
Nutrient values vary with variety, growing conditions, processing and storage, so treat the averages as a guide. Send us your ration details if you would like advice on using it in a TMR.
TMR Pakistan supplies Alfalfa (Lucerne) Hay in bulk for farms and feed mills. Add it to your quote list or contact us for a quotation.

- Literature values
SD = standard deviation DM = dry matter. Nutrients other than dry matter are expressed on a dry-matter basis. TDN = total digestible nutrients; ME, NEm, NEg, NEl and DE = metabolisable, net (maintenance / gain / lactation) and digestible energy.
