Green Guar Fodder
Cyamopsis tetragonoloba
Also known as: Gawara, guar chara, cluster bean fodder

About Green Guar Fodder
Fresh-cut cluster bean (guar) plants, a drought-hardy summer legume fodder that provides protein during the hot months when berseem and lucerne are not available.
Nutritional value and use in livestock rations
Green Guar Fodder is a roughage (forage) and a protein source in the Pakistan Feed Library. On average green guar fodder contains crude protein 15.0% of dry matter, metabolisable energy 2.0 Mcal/kg, TDN 55.0% of dry matter, NDF 45.0% of dry matter.
Protein-rich forages help lift the crude-protein level of a ration while also supplying the fibre the rumen needs. They are usually combined with energy feeds and minerals, and the ration is balanced for the production stage of the animals.
Nutrient values vary with variety, growing conditions, processing and storage, so treat the averages as a guide. Send us your ration details if you would like advice on using it in a TMR.

- Literature values
SD = standard deviation DM = dry matter. Nutrients other than dry matter are expressed on a dry-matter basis. TDN = total digestible nutrients; ME, NEm, NEg, NEl and DE = metabolisable, net (maintenance / gain / lactation) and digestible energy.
Data note: Typical values for guidance. Actual composition varies with variety, stage of growth, processing and batch.
