Nutritional value and use in livestock rations
Apple Pomace is a concentrate feed and an energy source in the Pakistan Feed Library. On average apple pomace contains crude protein 8.7% of dry matter, metabolisable energy 2.1 Mcal/kg, TDN 57.4% of dry matter, NDF 53.5% of dry matter.
Energy concentrates such as cereal grains and by-products raise the energy density of a ration. They are fed together with forage for fibre and with protein sources and minerals to keep the ration balanced.
